It appears that Uncharted Legacy of Thieves didn’t receive as warm of a response as anticipated.
While Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection on PC has been out for almost a week and has enjoyed some success, its launch has not been as significant as Sony’s other significant PC releases, such as God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and Horizon Zero Dawn. The game reached it’s all-time high two days ago with 10,851 players, compared to God of War’s top of 73,529 players.
It makes sense that Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection on PC won’t compete with the likes of Sony’s previous releases because the all-time peak for games often occurs within the first few weeks of the game’s launch. Both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Horizon Zero Dawn experienced strong early sales and maintain a sizable user base months after their debuts.
Numerous elements, including pricing and dwindling interest in the IP, may have played a role in the game’s very underwhelming PC release.
Failure of the PC Version of the Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection
Both Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: Lost Legacy are included in the collection, which also includes PC-specific enhancements including ray tracing and compatibility for ultrawide monitors. Even while the games are of the highest calibre and unquestionably two of the best in the franchise, they are also two of the best of their kind.
The games in the collection may not be nearly as recent as God of War or Spider-Man, which is perhaps why they weren’t able to catch on like the rest of their PlayStation contemporaries. Uncharted 4 has now been available to players since 2017 and they have had several opportunities to experience it.
Additionally, every other PlayStation game made available for PC either marked the beginning of a new franchise or a soft relaunch (God of War). Because consumers may begin playing these games without any prior knowledge of the series’ history, the games constitute a fantastic entry point for PC gamers.
Fans need to be familiar with the previous games in the series to fully appreciate Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy’s story and concepts. The fact that gamers haven’t exactly swarmed to the launch like they did for God of War and Spider-Man may be one factor in the game’s low all-time peak.
Despite the fact that this wasn’t a huge success for Sony, the platform owner is definitely trying to port more of their intellectual property to PC in order to reach a wider audience. The Last of Us Part I Remake by Naughty Dog will be released soon for PC gamers.
